Coventry City have been handed a home tie against Aston Villa in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Typical, isn’t it? We waited 25 years to play Villa and now we’re going to face them three times in one season!

It’s a cracking draw and a great reward for those who made the long trip down to Plymouth earlier this week.

It also got us here at The Phoenix thinking: when was the last time the Sky Blues faced Villa in a cup competition? For that, we need to journey back to Valentine’s Day 1998.
