Dennis Lawrence could hardly have scripted his final day as a Coventry City coach any better.

The Sky Blues went to Molineux in March 2024 as Championship outsiders facing Premier League Wolves for a place in the FA Cup semi-final and came away with one of the most extraordinary victories in the club’s recent history.

Coventry had led through Ellis Simms before two late Wolves goals appeared to have cruelly snatched the tie away. Simms struck again in the 97th minute but, rather than settle for extra-time, City went looking for more. Three minutes later, Haji Wright scored to seal a remarkable 3-2 victory and send the Sky Blues back to Wembley.
