It’s 6 November 2024. The Sky Blues have just lost 2-1 at home to Derby County in the Championship. It’s a match in which Jack Rudoni played at left wing-back.

As it turned out, this would prove to be Mark Robins’ final match in charge of Coventry City. He would be sacked the next morning. Soon after, Frank Lampard would arrive as the Sky Blues’ new head coach.

Fast-forward 17 months to 3 April 2026. Coventry have just beaten Derby 3-2 at the CBS Arena. This time, Rudoni was the catalyst for victory, coming off the bench to score twice in a remarkable 27-minute cameo. It was a performance that offered a tantalising glimpse of Rudoni’s Premier League potential.
