A summer training camp in Ibiza sounded like the perfect way to prepare for a Championship season. It turns out, it really wasn't.

Coventry City's pre-season has been low key this summer. Beyond the draw with Northampton, supporters have barely seen Frank Lampard's side in action.

If you think that's frustrating, spare a thought for the Sky Blues squad of 2005. Their preparations involved a training camp in Ibiza featuring a dreadful hotel, sand-covered pitches, fighting in the stands and a simmering feud with QPR that carried all the way to the opening match at the Ricoh Arena.

I interviewed some of the key characters of the infamous Ibiza Cup for my book Sky Blue Fall. Here's what they had to say.
