If the Sky Blues complete the signing of Caleb Yirenkyi, they will be landing one of Africa's brightest young talents – and one who has previously been on Real Madrid's radar.

That's the view of Toke Theilade, Danish football expert and editor-in-chief at vilfortpark.dk, who admits he is surprised Coventry appear to have stolen a march on some of Europe's biggest clubs in the race for the Ghanaian midfielder.

Reports have suggested Coventry have agreed a deal worth around £26m to bring the 20-year-old from Danish side Nordsjælland to the CBS Arena. Theilade believes Frank Lampard's side could be signing a future star.
