Aurele Amenda did not choose Coventry City by accident. Frank Lampard personally convinced him.

In his first interview after joining Coventry City from Eintracht Frankfurt, Amenda admitted that Lampard had played a major role in persuading him to move to the CBS Arena.

Christopher Michel, a German football expert at absolutfussball.de, has revealed just how vital those discussions were. Speaking to The Phoenix, Michel suggested that Amenda was very much a Frank Lampard target and someone who has quickly bought into his new coach’s way of thinking.
