Ellis Simms must learn to speak Polish, and quickly, if he is to be accepted by fans of his potential national team.

That is the view of Rafal Szymanski, of Polish sport website Sportowe Fakty.

There has been considerable talk in recent weeks that Simms, who is eligible to play for England, Poland and Jamaica, is close to a call-up for Poland. So much so, that the Sky Blues striker is reported to have already submitted paperwork to obtain a Polish passport.

‘There is currently a lot of talk about a potential call-up for Simms, as concrete developments have finally emerged,’ Szymanski told The Phoenix. ‘The player has already submitted the necessary paperwork and is awaiting the completion of formalities. He could potentially be called up as early as November.’
