Opposition Voice: ‘It’s pick your poison’ – the dilemma facing Coventry against Manchester City

It could be a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t when it comes to Frank Lampard changing Coventry’s defensive shape ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City.
That is the view of Bailey Wynne, founder of The Sky Blue Times website and contributor to the Manchester City podcast 93:20.
There has been lots of talk since last week’s disappointing defeat to Hull that Lampard may shift from his preferred back four to a three-man central defence.
He certainly has the personnel to do so. Even without loanee Stephen Mfuni, who is forbidden from playing against his parent club, Lampard has Ethan Pinnock, Aurele Amenda and Bobby Thomas as a ready-made back three. Milan van Ewijk and Jay Dasilva have the ability to fit into wing back roles (there’s an argument that they are more suited to that position rather than full back).
