It was on. Then it was off. Now, it’s done! Stephen Mfuni has signed for Coventry City on loan.

The Phoenix heard a whisper a couple of weeks ago that the highly-rated defender was on City’s radar. Those whispers developed into widespread reports last weekend and the deal seemed imminent.

Then, it collapsed.

Reports on Monday stated that despite there being an agreement in place between the clubs, Mfuni would not be heading to Coventry. Instead, he was linked with a loan to a host of Championship clubs, including Swansea and Sheffield United. At the time, it was unclear why the move had broken down.
