The Sky Blues fell to defeat against a Tottenham side that, in all honesty, didn't perform to the level they had shown in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United last time out.

Unfortunately for Coventry, the home side didn't need to be at their absolute best to take all three points.

It was widely expected that Frank Lampard would set Coventry up with a back three. Instead, he opted for a four-man defence. There will inevitably be debate about whether that was the right decision against a Spurs side that has struggled against teams willing to sit back and frustrate them.

Then again, Lampard surprised us with his starting line-ups against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, and those matches delivered six points. He's shown that he's willing to make bold decisions, even when they go against conventional thinking. Tonight, those decisions didn't pay off.
