Coventry City should not expect new signing Dan Bentley to challenge for a first-team place – but they are getting a model professional who should prove a valuable addition to the dressing room.

That is the view of Sky Sports reporter and editor of The Wanderers Post Johnny Phillips, who has watched the goalkeeper closely during his time at Wolves.

Bentley has joined the Sky Blues on a free transfer, signing a two-year deal. The 33-year-old moved to Wolves in January 2023 and went on to make 13 league appearances for the club, ten of them in the Premier League. Prior to that, he was a first-team regular with Brentford and Bristol City, racking up 250 Championship appearances.
