The Sky Blues rounded off their pre-season preparations (well, other than the behind closed doors match coming on Saturday) with a 2-0 win over Monaco. It was a fixture from which we can infer a whole heap ahead of next Friday’s Premier League opener.

Let’s take a look at what we learned.

Caleb Yirenkyi is going to be a lot of fun

Yirenkyi made his debut this evening and he made his mark right from the off. There was barely a minute on the clock when he launched into a crunching tackle. He showed that he was willing to put his foot in time and again. That may make him a magnet for yellow cards, but it will certainly get the crowd going.
